ABC News anchor Bob Woodruff and cameraman Doug Vogt showed signs of improvement Monday after being wounded by a bomb in Iraq, the network reported. Vogt was alert and joking, while Woodruff responded to stimuli in his hands and feet, and briefly opened his eyes. Woodruff's brother told ABC: "It's going to be a long road, but I think he's a strong guy, and he's going to make it."

Carroll was kidnapped January 7 and her captors previously threatened to kill her unless all female prisoners were freed.
