| Following weeks of speculation, Scott McNealy, the CEO of Sun Microsystems, has announced he is stepping down after a 22-year run as the head of the server and chipmaking giant. McNealy, one of Silicon Valley's sharpest tongues and boldest executives—whose tenure as CEO was the second longest in the valley behind Oracle's Larry Ellison—will be succeeded by Jonathan Schwartz, a computer programmer who has been Sun's No. 2 for the past two years. |
