A fire that swept through a central Paris hotel early today killed 20 people and wounded more than 50 others, including an American and two Canadians, according to police. Ten of the dead were children. The blaze at the Paris-Opera hotel was so bad that some people jumped from windows to escape flames and choking smoke.
