| The wife of American businessman Jeffrey Ake, who was kidnapped in Iraq a year ago, Tuesday spoke publicly for the first time to plead for his release. Liliana Ake told CNN that last year the kidnappers had telephoned her in Indiana and warned they "would destroy him if I don't cooperate with them." She said she was inspired to speak publicly by the campaign that kept Jill Carroll in the media spotlight and her subsequent release from captivity. |
