Army Sgt. Willsun Mock was the 11th U.S. soldier killed in a violent weekend in Iraq -- a brother, son and boyfriend. For CNN's Arwa Damon he was someone she shared precious time with in Falluja. His last words to her, days before he was killed in October, were: "Take care of yourself. It's dangerous out there. Keep your head down." He used to remember Taps being played for fallen comrades. Now, this Veterans Day, they will be playing for him.
A Marine who died saving his comrades in Iraq from a grenade blast will receive a posthumous Medal of Honor -- the nation's highest military decoration. Marine Cpl. Jason Dunham was fighting hand to hand when his attacker dropped a grenade. Dunham dived on the explosive, using his helmet to try to blunt the blast. "As long as we have Marines like Corporal Dunham, America will never fear for her liberty," President Bush said Friday.
Oscar-winning actor Jack Palance, who starred as a hired gun in the classic western "Shane," has died, a family spokesman said Friday. The 87-year-old died at his home in Montecito, California.
