| Thousands of Palestinians demonstrated after an Israeli gunboat fired shells onto a beach Friday, killing at least seven people. The shelling prompted Hamas' military wing to call off its cease-fire with a Hamas spokesman saying it was "impossible to remain silent" after viewing "terrifying pictures of the women and children" on the beach. The Israel Defense Forces issued an apology but later said the military was investigating whether it was naval artillery that struck the beach. |
